Meet our Teams!!!

Remember, If you can't make it to a competition, be sure to check the teams out at any of the home games!  They're always on the sidelines and generally perform routines during halftimes.

The Varsity Squad!

The Varsity Squad is made up of girls 9th-12th grade. They are also found on the sidelines of the Varsity Football games and home Basketball games! However, this team takes it to the next level and competes throughout the year all over Wisconsin and our neighboring states. They travel to open competitions, as well as Conference, Regionals, and National competitions!

The Varsity team is currently the reigning Southern Lakes Conference Champions as well as reigning State Champions.

The JV Team

The JV Team is made up of Freshman, Sophomores & Juniors all willing to learn and grow in their passion and skill for the sport. The girls cheer at the JV Football games, and at home basketball games. They perform awesome routines during the halftimes, too! You'll also see them at the Southern Lakes Conference Competition.  They work hard and are excited to support Wilmot Athletics.

The Freshman Team
Far from "the beginning" this team is a first step for all Freshman girls for at least one season.  If they're lucky enough to earn a spot on the freshman team, these girls can look forward to learning all of the basics they will need as a WHS Cheerleader and giving the coaches a chance to look at their future talent.

Varsity Coach: Mandi Kula

Mandi is in her 5th year coaching for WHS. She comes to us from 7 whole years coaching incredible teams in Oakfield, WI. Since her arrival, the Wilmot Varsity Program has only continued to gain momentum and strength, accomplishing more & more every day.   She works full-time at "Cool Runnings" in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  She lives in Crystal Lake, IL.  She is looking forward to a productiveseason & cannot wait to watch this new Panther team step foot on the floor for competitions!!

  • Favorite Food: Swedish fish (only the red ones)
  • Favorite Thing About Cheerleading: How you can take so many different personalities and bring them together to form an inseparable family and unexpected friendships that last forever.
  • What makes her unique?: This was a hard one. I'm a shopaholic...but seriously... I'm a firm believer that happiness (as well as crabbiness) is contagious. I try very hard to be happy and hope that even if the people around me aren't happy, that I might at least make them smile once during the day.
Coach: Jenni Boswell

Jenni comes to Wilmot with 9 years of cheer experience. She cheered all 4 years of High school and just recently finished up her cheerleading career after 3 years at Northwestern University.  She recently graduated from Northwestern where she received her degree in biomedical engineering. She is looking forward to helping to build the program she once was a part of in High school.

STATS:

  • Favorite Food: Ice cream, chocolate, cookies....sweets in general
  • Favorite thing about cheerleading:  Definitely the continuous challenge it provides.  You can always improve your skills, whether they be technical skills like jumps and motions or leadership skills amongst your team & fans.
  • What makes her unique:  Thanks to cheering at a Big Ten school, I've gotten to spend some quality time having my face shown on ESPN right before they break to commercial.  My relatives and friends call from all over the US to let me know when they spot me!

Coach: Kelly Burns

Kelly is in her 1st year of coaching for Wilmot.  She comes to us with 3 years cheer coach experience atRiverview School in Silver Lake, where she’ll continue to coach cheerleading during the basketball season!  She works full-time at Riverview and keeps busy at home with her own future Panthers, ages 8 and 9!
  • Favorite Food: Cheese – this is Wisconsin, right?
  • Favorite Thing About Cheerleading: The sisterhood – a cheerleading squad is one tight knit group of girls (most of the time).  It’s my pleasure to watch several really different individuals grow into one team focused on the same thing.  It’s just really cool!
  • What makes her unique?: Ooh…tough one!  I’ve been told by my Riverview girls that it’s my “lectures”.  But seriously, I place a lot of value on priorities and keeping them straight -- I call them my 5 S’s (ask me about them) – but a work hard, play hard attitude has always meant success and no regrets for me and my team!

Coach: Shannon Fuchs

Shannon is new to coaching but not to cheerleading.  She is a tried & true product of the Wilmot Cheer Program spending 4 years on the Varsity team after finishing up her grade school career at Trevor.  Shannon will be attending College at UW Whitewater in the fall and is looking forward to tryouts for their cheer team.
